At the initial stage of the application process, you need to pass either IELTS/OET. For IELTS you will require a minimum score of 7 in all modules. 6.5 score in “writing” is also accepted. If you are attempting OET, then you will require a minimum score of “B” in all modules. Clubbed scored attempted within 6 months can also be used a proof of language test.
CBT is the competency test part 1 you will need to complete in order to start the NMC process. It consists of 120 Multiple Choice Questions for 4 hours. It covers all four domains and questions specific to the adult nursing addressed in the test, ensuring that the overseas nurses pass the CBT by preparing with this material.
OSCE is the competency test Part 2. This is attempted when the nurse arrives in the UK. The international nurse is provided 3 attempts to pass the OSCE. All the three attempts should be made within 8 months from the arrival in the UK.
